Dr. Yousef S.H. Najjar |
Dr. Yousef S.H. Najjar worked with industry as Chief Engineer of power stations for six years, including one year of specialized industrial experience with General Electric Co. ( GEC) and its related industries in Britain ( gas turbines, diesel engines and steam turbines).
Dr. Najjar was the founder and first chairman of the Mechanical Engineering Department at Yarmouk University [1980]. He is presently Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), after 15 years in this post at King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia . He participated effectively in funded research projects especially on ”hydrogen utilization” and “cogeneration” with gas turbine engines.
Dr. Najjar has published 120 papers in international refereed journals and conferences, two books, and two patent publications. He was also granted a patent by the British Patent Office in July 1988. In recognition of his eminent contributions, Professor Najjar was the only Engineer in the Middle East selected by the Board of ASME for the distinctive grade of fellowship in the year 1999/2000.
